Valparaíso, located about 1.5 hours west of Santiago, is one of Chile’s most charming cities. The port city is known for its steep hills, colourful houses and lively art scene.

• Historic cable cars: Take a ride on one of the old lifts (ascensores) and enjoy the view over the city and the sea.

Casablanca wine region
