I have no business relationship with Vaude and have written this review based on my own experience. The Vaude Mundo 50 travel rucksack is a versatile companion for travellers, adventurers and everyday users alike.
The main compartment has a capacity of approx. 35 litres and opens like a suitcase. There are mesh pockets on the side and on the back for storing light items. I keep gloves, a hat and other small items here.
The zip fastener appears extremely sturdy, shows no signs of wear and tear so far, and can be secured with a lock.
The front compartment has a capacity of approximately 15 litres. It features an additional mesh pocket for storing items such as documents. There is also a padded laptop compartment. The MacBook Air 13 with its case fits perfectly into this compartment, which also offers space for significantly larger models.
Flat clothing bags and jackets can be stored here very well.
The Vaude Mundo 50 offers outstanding carrying comfort. The padded shoulder straps, which feature an integrated pocket, and the ventilated back panel reduce strain and make it comfortable to carry, even over long periods of time. The chest strap and hip belt, each equipped with integrated pockets, provide additional stability, especially when the rucksack is fully loaded.
A particularly practical feature is the option to cover the backpack straps with a tarpaulin so that the backpack can be safely checked in as hold luggage. The additional handles make it easy to carry the bag, which makes it even more convenient to use.
The rucksack is made from water-repellent material, which offers a certain degree of protection against light rain and splashes. A rain cover is not included.
The rucksack has several lashing straps that you can use to compress the rucksack to a smaller pack size.
The lid also has a small compartment for small items.
To reduce weight, you can remove the metal frame of the rucksack and save a few grams.
The main compartment provides access to clothing as elegantly as a suitcase.
The backpack straps can be stowed away, allowing the Vaude Mundo to be used as a bag.
The compartment is extra padded to protect your laptop.
After about a year, the rucksack still shows no signs of wear or other damage.
