Optimal workflow to get the best out of your images of the starry sky

Here I provide you with my best astrophotography Lightroom presets to get the best out of your images.

The package contains 3 presets for selecting the right lighting conditions. In addition, there are 3 brushes for optimizing the Milky Way arc, the landscape and the entire night sky.

It starts with selecting a preset from three available variants: Bright, Clear or Dark. Choose the preset that best suits your image.

Now use the “Milky Way only” brush: apply it locally to the Milky Way to emphasize it.

The “Whole sky” brush preset reduces the stars slightly as a brush or graduated filter and further denoises the sky.

Apply the “Landscape” preset as a brush or graduated filter to the foreground to illuminate the foreground.

The presets enable more natural colors of the starry sky and a detail and noise optimization with just a few clicks.

The filters for local optimization can be applied to the sky or background masks in the new Lightroom versions for a faster workflow.
